Simmons to Hold Free Paper Shredding Event on May 10
COOPERSBURG – In a continuing effort to combat identity theft in the Lehigh Valley, state Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Northampton) is encouraging area residents and businesses to take advantage of his free paper shredding event on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. The service will be available outside his district office, located in Village Center, 21 N. Main St. in Coopersburg.

“We all know that identity theft is a growing problem in our community and around the country,” said Simmons. “That’s why we need to take extra care in protecting our personal information. I am pleased we are able to provide this shredding service to ensure our sensitive documents are destroyed properly and don’t get into the wrong hands.”

Residents and businesses are urged to bring documents that contain sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, medical data or bank account numbers, to be shredded, free of charge. The limit is four bags or boxes of paperwork per vehicle. The service is provided by Richter Mobile Shredding of Souderton.
