Simmons to Hold Free Paper Shredding Event on May 16
COOPERSBURG – In a continuing effort to combat identity theft in the Lehigh Valley, Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) is encouraging area residents and businesses to take advantage of his paper shredding event on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. The free service will be available outside his district office, located in Village Center, 21 N. Main St. in Coopersburg.

“These days, we need to protect our private information and make sure it doesn’t get into the wrong hands by destroying of it properly,” said Simmons. “We are pleased to be able to once again provide the community with a secure way to shred large amounts of personal documents and reduce the risk of becoming a victim of identity theft.”

Residents and businesses are urged to bring documents that contain sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, medical data or bank account numbers, to be shredded, at no cost to them. The limit is five bags or boxes of paperwork per vehicle. The service is provided by Richter Mobile Shredding of Souderton.
