Fire, Ambulance Companies Urged to Apply for State Grants, Says Simmons
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) is encouraging fire companies and volunteer ambulance services throughout Pennsylvania to submit an application for the 2015-16 Fire Company, Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program.

Grants may be used for construction or renovation of a unit’s station, the purchase or repair of equipment, training or debt reduction. The maximum grant amount is $15,000 for fire companies and $10,000 for volunteer ambulance services. A total of $30 million will be awarded through the program.

The application period will close on Thursday, Oct. 22, and the program is funded through state gaming proceeds.
