Simmons Offers Free Assistance to Area Veterans on Oct. 7
COOPERSBURG – Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) is pleased to announce that area veterans and their families can once again receive free veteran assistance at his district office in Coopersburg on Friday, Oct. 7. No appointment is necessary. The service had been temporarily suspended.

“Pennsylvania has a high concentration of veterans and we need to make sure they are aware of the benefits, services and programs available to them,” said Simmons. “That is why we have partnered with the American Legion to have an expert on hand to meet face to face with veterans, answer their questions and help connect them with the benefits they have earned through their valiant service to our country.”

An American Legion veterans affairs service officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions about veteran benefits and help file claims. Some of the issues the officer can provide assistance with include:

• Compensation and pension claims.
• Education benefits.
• Enrollment in the VA health care system.
• Burial and survivor benefits.
• State benefits.
• Obtaining military personnel and medical records.

The office is located at 21 N. Main Street, Unit 9, in Coopersburg. Further information is available by calling (610) 282-0160.
