Dedication of “Officer David M. Petzold Memorial Highway” on Nov. 5
                                     
WHAT:
Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) will offer remarks at the dedication ceremony for the “Officer David M. Petzold Memorial Highway,” which will be attended by Petzold’s family members along with local and county officials. The Upper Saucon Township police officer was struck and killed by a vehicle while removing a deer carcass from the roadway on Nov. 9, 2006. Simmons was the prime sponsor of legislation naming a section of State Routes 309 and 378, where the accident occurred, in Petzold’s memory.
                   
WHO: Simmons; Christine Petzold, Petzold’s sister; Chief Robert Coyle, Upper Saucon Township Police Department; James Martin, Lehigh County district attorney; Father Thomas Dailey, DeSales University; and other members of Petzold’s family.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m.

WHERE: Dedication ceremony to begin at Upper Saucon Community Park, 3251 Preston Lane, Coopersburg (entrance across from Southern Lehigh Public Library), and will conclude at the intersection of State Routes 309 and 378 southbound.
