Rep. Simmons offers internships in his district office throughout the year. Internships are unpaid and are open to graduating high school seniors and college students who live in the 131st Legislative District. An internship with Rep. Simmons provides students the opportunity to learn more about state government, the legislative process and the responsibilities of a Pennsylvania state representative.
Interns can expect to perform a wide variety of duties including: handling constituent issues through phone duties, helping constituents solve cases with state agencies, and attending community and special events.
We encourage applicants who are motivated and interested in government and public service. The internship program is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and tools that will assist an intern in all future professional endeavors.
To apply, please send a resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
. These are rolling internships, so there is no deadline to apply. The internship can qualify as a class credit, if approved by the school.
