Simmons Votes for Bipartisan Balanced Budget Approved by House

HARRISBURG – After state lawmakers earlier this year enacted a partial state budget to fund key government programs and services while giving them time to assess the fiscal impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, state Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) today voted for a budget bill approved by the House that includes no new or increased taxes and would fund the government through the end of the fiscal year in June.

HARRISBURG – After the state House today in Harrisburg fell short in its effort to override the governor’s veto of legislation that would have empowered local school districts to establish health and safety guidelines for school sports and extracurricular activities, Rep. Simmons: More than $1.3 Million in COVID-19 Safety Grants Now Available to Local School Districts

HARRISBURG – Rep. Justin Simmons (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) today announced that school entities in the 131st Legislative District are set to receive more than $1.3 million in federal funds for School Health and Safety Grants to address needs related to preventing the spread of COVID-19. Applications are due by Tuesday, June 30; money must be expended by Oct. 30.
